I got to have a interview with produktion skateboards, they have one of my favorite skateboard graphics and I hope you enjoy reading it. •What made you decide to make skateboards? The real decision behind to start making skateboards was plain and simple to me i had friends who had raw talent and i felt in the area that we lived in there wasn't enough of a chance for them to get far with it we didn't really have any shops for them to get sponsors from and if we did they always closed as fast as they opened so i decided i was going to give kids a chance to show off what they were truly capable of by grabbing the best of the best i could find that had no sponsors and no one to back them and that was the birth of the produktion skateboards •what was the mind set behind the Edgar Allen poe deck? i wish i could take credit for one of our most popular boards ever but it was a brand child of a graphic desinger aldan kalput hopefully i spelt it right just going off the top of my head here he does 80's punk rock style art work and it just melted together perfect with this board design and what we were doing we look forward to doing more work with him in the future •What are some achievements you've made since opening produktion? the only real achievement i wanted out of all of this was to be able to actual do it. it actual took some time to get all the money together to get the first boards out there to the kids hands i still remember the day we got them in it was the best feeling in the world to have all your hard work final take a shape we had tried for so long i thought i was never going to happen but with hard work and a can do attitude we made it work nothing beats the feeling of seeing your board on shop wall to •do you have any plans in the future, something skaters can look out for? i have plenty of plans we plan on doing a cruiser board the is a companion to the poe board also release a new line of bolts and grip along with multiply deck graphics at the same time were also working on some rider parts to realease online but it will all take time •what has it been like having produktion? it was like having a child to me you have to spend a lot of time and money with it and it will stress you out you'll want to quit but you can't cause it depends on you and other depend on you to make it work hard work pays just like being a father i got to watch it grow into something i never thought it would become people wanting to do things with us designs just for us sponsor me tapes and shops wanting us in the begging no one knew us wanted nothing to do with a new brand but i planted the seed and watered it every day and never gave up and now its a tree of sorts still could use work but its not bad considering i came up with this idea sitting in my basement over one night |
